Airborne Computer

Tentative specifications for the airborne computer are listed below. The computer is a turn-key solution and all necessary software and drivers as well as hardware (including frame grabber, frequency divider, I/O device) will be installed and correctly configured on the computer.

Ultra-compact airborne computer:

With a weight of only 4.5 kg and a power consumption of 50 W, the ultra-compact data acquisition units (DAUs) are ideal for small aircrafts and UAVs. To ensure the stability and reliability of the system, SSDs are standard in airborne HySpex DAUs.

Compact airborne computer

The photo above shows the ultra-compact DAU, HySpex VNIR-1600 and a trans-reflective touch-screen. The total power consumption of this system is less than 75 W.

Small airborne computer:

For other airborne applications where the computer size and mass are of special importance, a small airborne computer is also available.

The main characteristics for this computer are:

  • 4x removable 2,5” hard disks
  • 2 x 2 GB DDR3 RAM
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme 3.2 GHz processor
  • 34 cm x 34 cm x 18 cm
  • Approximately 8 kg

Main specifications for Rack computer:

  • 19” rack
  • 4*1TB HDD = 4TB RAID for data storage
  • Data storage hard drives “hot swappable” for easy data transfer to the processing computer
  • 300GB SATA 10000rpm OS disk
  • 2*2GB DDR3 RAM
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme 3.2GHz processor
  • High performance CameraLink frame grabber
  • I/O device
  • Frequency divider

Note: The specifications are tentative and may be improved if better hardware is available at the time of production.
